A stick - I found the easist place to forage was the palace gardens where there are cypress, maple and walnut sticks.

A knife or dagger - Rowdy's drop nicked daggers.  I wouldn't use a good one because carving and whittling tend to dull them and you'll need to have them fixed all the time.
